Kazakhstan's Grain Production Plummets: Only 8 Million Tons Harvested from 5.4 Million Hectares of Crops

According to the latest information from the Ministry of Agriculture, Kazakhstan has successfully harvested more than 540 hectares of grain and pulses crops so far. Specifically, the average yield of these crops reached 14.7 quintals per hectare, while the total amount of grain that has been threshed is close to 8 million tons.

Further details show that the current wheat harvest area has reached 3.7 million hectares, the yield is 14.2 quintals per hectare, and the total amount of grain after threshing is 5.4 million tons. At the same time, 1.2 million hectares of barley were harvested with a yield of 15.8 quintals per hectare and a total of 1.9 million tonnes after threshing. The area of oat harvest was 99,400 hectares, the yield was 14.7 quintals per hectare, and the total amount after threshing was 145,900 tons.

In terms of oil crops, the oilseed harvest area was 67,300 hectares, the average yield was 10.2 quintals per hectare, and the total amount after threshing was 68,600 tons.

In addition, the potato harvest area of 41,100 hectares, the yield of 260.4 quintals per hectare, the total harvest of more than 1 million tons. The area of vegetables harvested was 77,400 hectares, the yield was 242 quintals per hectare, and the total harvest was close to 1.9 million tons. The melon crop was harvested on 92,400 hectares with a yield of 252.9 quintals per hectare and a total harvest of more than 2.3 million tons.
