Kemira to Acquire Water Engineering for USD 150 Million
Kemira has signed a purchase agreement to acquire Water Engineering, a U.S.-based specialty water treatment services company headquartered in Nebraska, from Nolan Capital.
The transaction, valued at approximately USD 150 million in cash and subject to customary price adjustments, is expected to close by the end of 2025 following regulatory approval and standard closing conditions.
Water Engineering brings extensive expertise in boiler and cooling tower water treatment formulations, as well as industrial wastewater treatment solutions for sectors including food and beverage, manufacturing, and healthcare. The acquisition also creates significant cross-selling opportunities with Kemira’s existing product portfolio.
Tuija Pohjolainen-Hiltunen, Executive Vice President of Kemira’s Water division, stated: “This acquisition marks an important milestone in our strategy to double water-related revenues and strengthen our position in industrial water treatment services.”
Kemira warmly welcomes Water Engineering and its employees to the global team. With its strong know-how in industrial water treatment services, Water Engineering will significantly enhance Kemira’s capabilities and service offering. Together, the companies aim to accelerate growth and continue delivering high-quality solutions and chemistry to industrial customers across North America.
