$100 Million! Sunlit Fluo Establishes Factory in the U.S., Causing a Shockwave in the Semiconductor Industry with 50 Jobs on the Horizon
Sunlit Fluo & chemical Co. Ltd., a Taiwan-based supplier of semiconductor chemicals. Today, they announced the official opening of their first manufacturing facility outside of Asia, Sunlit Arizona, LLC. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the $100 million facility is designed to provide critical material support to the semiconductor industry in the United States.
The Sunlit Arizona facility spans 27 acres with approximately 900,000 square feet of built-up space and is vertically integrated to optimize the production efficiency of high-purity hydrofluoric acid and other chemicals integral to the semiconductor manufacturing process. The Sunshine Arizona facility will be a partner for more than 200 semiconductor related companies in Arizona to advance the industry.
The first phase of the Sunlit Arizona facility is expected to create more than 50 local jobs by early 2025. With the expansion of the production scale and the implementation of the new phase of investment, the plant plans to increase the number of employees to 100. The establishment of the plant will make an important contribution to national security and economic resilience by boosting domestic production capacity and introducing cutting-edge technologies.
Since 2020, Arizona has attracted more than 40 semiconductor-related companies. These companies have brought more than $100 billion in investment to the state and created more than 16,000 jobs. The Greater Phoenix area has one of the largest semiconductor-related talent pools in the country, with more than 140,000 workers employed in fields related to semiconductor manufacturing. According to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), Arizona's universities produce 2,000 highly specialized semiconductor-related graduates each year, while the state's higher education institutions currently have more than 35,000 students enrolled in engineering programs, providing a steady stream of talent support for the semiconductor industry.
