Japan Revises Food Standards, Major Adjustments to Residue Limits for Seven Pesticides!
On December 3, 2024, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published proposal number 235110010, aimed at revising the standards for food and food additives. The main revisions include:
- Adjustments to the maximum residue limits for seven pesticides and veterinary drugs in specific foods, with the revised values shown in the table below;
- Clarification of exemptions regarding the maximum residue limit for salicylic acid in food.
The public can submit comments on this proposal until January 8, 2025.
