Nippon Paint to Raise Prices by Up to 9% Starting 2025
Last week, on December 13, Nippon Paint Decorative Materials (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. officially released a price adjustment notice. The notice stated that due to the continued rise in costs of key raw materials such as titanium dioxide, resins, and emulsions, the company has decided to adjust the prices of its interior wall latex paint products in the circulation channels starting from January 1, 2025. The specific adjustment ranges are as follows:
- Gold Medal Anti-Formaldehyde and Odor-Free 5-in-1 Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 2%.
- Gold Medal Bamboo Charcoal Odor-Free 5-in-1 Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 3%.
- Gold Medal Odor-Free 5-in-1 Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 2%.
- Odor-Free Special Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 2%.
- Odor-Free Meiderli Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 3%.
- Meiderli Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 3%.
- Odor-Free 120 Moisture-Proof and Easy-to-Clean Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 3%.
- Gold Medal Odor-Free 120 2-in-1 Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 2%.
- Odor-Free 120 Youli'an Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 2%.
- New Shishili Interior Latex Paint (Odor-Free Plus) price will increase by 1%.
- New Shishili Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 1%.
- Professional Shishili Interior Latex Paint price will increase by 1%.
In the case of wood coatings, Shishili High Flashpoint Series Varnish, Topcoat, and Primer saw a price increase on December 8, 2024, with price increases ranging from 6% to 9%.
This price adjustment by Nippon Paint Decorative Materials (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. is expected to have a positive impact on the paint industry, with other paint brands likely to respond quickly and follow suit with their own price adjustments to seize this market opportunity without taking on risks.
