Lier Chemical Gains Momentum as Chlorantraniliprole Supply Stabilizes

ECHEMI 2026-04-11

Lier Chemical’s latest investor communication paints a company moving into a stronger phase of execution. According to AgroPages, the Chinese crop protection company said its 2025 performance improved markedly year on year, driven by higher sales volumes, stronger blended gross margins, tighter cost-control efforts, closer strategic customer cooperation, and continued market expansion. That alone would make the update notable. What gives it extra weight is the company’s statement that its Guang’an base has already achieved normal supply of chlorantraniliprole, one of the most commercially important insecticide molecules in the global market.

The chlorantraniliprole point matters because market confidence depends not just on capacity announcements but on stable output from real production sites. Lier said it remains optimistic on the product’s market outlook, has made significant domestic and overseas market preparations, and continues to build out facilities including key intermediates. In a sector where downstream buyers care as much about reliability as headline capacity, that message is significant. Normal supply is what turns strategy into commercial relevance.

The company also sounded positive on glufosinate and L-glufosinate. Lier described itself as the largest domestic producer of L-glufosinate technical and said it expects demand to keep growing as more registrations are secured, marketing expands, and production technology improves. It estimated 2025 global glufosinate usage at above 100,000 tons and L-glufosinate at above 30,000 tons. That suggests management sees the herbicide segment not as a stagnant price story, but as a market where lower prices may actually stimulate wider use.

Add in the company’s comments on Middle East tensions pushing up oil and upstream chemical prices, and the picture becomes more balanced: stronger performance, but under external cost pressure. Still, the overall tone is clear. Lier is trying to position itself as a more complete and more dependable player across major actives, rather than a company tied to one cycle or one product.
