6 Key Insights from PwC's Annual CEO Survey on Global Economic Outlook

ECHEMI 2025-01-24

During the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, PwC released its annual global CEO survey, revealing that nearly 60% of CEOs anticipate an acceleration in global economic growth over the next 12 months. This survey encompassed 4,701 CEOs from 109 countries and regions, reflecting a broad range of perspectives.

The findings indicate that 42% of respondents expect to increase their workforce by 5% or more in the coming year, a figure that is twice as high as the 17% of CEOs who foresee a reduction in employee numbers. This marks an increase from last year's figure of 39%, demonstrating a growing confidence in business expansion.

While CEOs express optimism about the global economy, they also identify significant risks on the horizon. Macroeconomic fluctuations (29%) and inflation (27%) are cited as the primary concerns for the upcoming year. This highlights a dual narrative: while there is hope for growth, challenges remain that could impact business operations and stability.

Overall, the survey underscores a cautious yet positive outlook among global business leaders as they navigate a complex economic landscape.
