JD.com Reports Strong Results on Growing Consumer Demand
JD.com, one of China's leading e-commerce and supply chain technology providers, announced strong fourth quarter and full-year 2024 financial results while raising its annual dividend.
Net revenue for the fourth quarter increased 13.4% year-over-year to RMB 347.0 billion (US$47.5 billion).
Full-year 2024 net revenue reached RMB 1,158.8 billion (US$158.8 billion), up 6.8% from 2023.
Operating margin increased significantly to 2.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024, compared to 0.7% in the same period last year.
Net revenue for the fourth quarter soared to RMB 9.9 billion (US$1.4 billion) from RMB 3.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The Board of Directors approved a dividend of US$0.5 per ordinary share ($1.0 per ADS), payable in April 2025.
JD Retail, the core business, saw sales increase 14.7% year-on-year in the fourth quarter, benefiting from steady improvement in consumer spending, including increased demand for beauty and personal care products.
Driven by the consumption rebound, JD.com has expanded its retail infrastructure, logistics coverage and diversified its product portfolio to attract a wider customer base.
