Dow's Thailand Map Ta Phut Propylene Glycol Plant Receives ISCC PLUS Certification
Dow has announced that its propylene glycol (PG) manufacturing plant in Map Ta Phut, Rayong, Thailand has received the International Sustainability and Carbon Emission Certification (ISCC) PLUS. This certification reinforces Dow's ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable production and providing circular and bio-circular products to customers in the Asia Pacific region.
Designed to help customers achieve their circular and sustainable development goals, the new PG products are suitable for a wide range of applications in various industries such as personal care, pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, flavors and fragrances.
“Achieving ISCC PLUS certification marks another important milestone for the Map Ta Phut PG plant,” said Heidi Xu, Dow Polyurethanes Asia Pacific Business Director. “This certification enables Dow to provide customers in the Asia Pacific region with verifiable circular or bio-circular solutions while still ensuring uncompromised premium quality. This milestone strengthens our ability to support our customers’ sustainability goals and work with value chain partners to advance the circular economy while driving positive environmental impact across industries.”
This achievement expands Dow’s portfolio of sustainable petrochemical solutions in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
“Dow is proud to offer more sustainable PG products in each region. This reinforces our global leadership in sustainable production and the company’s commitment to driving a low-carbon, circular future,” said Vincent Lacoste, Dow’s Global Business Director for CAV and POPG.
Following the recent capacity expansion and ISCC PLUS certification of the Map Ta Phut PG plant, Dow Thailand is now recognized as a leading supplier of sustainable PG products in the region.
Vichan Tangkengsirisin, president of Dow Thailand, said: "Following the expansion in 2024, Dow Thailand's PG plant becomes the largest in Asia and the ISCC Plus certification highlights our operational excellence, adding a more sustainable aspect to our achievements. This world-class manufacturing plant in Thailand is now in the best position to serve local and regional customers."
