CATL and Sinopec Will Build 10,000 Battery Swap Stations
CATL and Sinopec recently signed a cooperation framework agreement in Beijing. According to the agreement, the two parties will establish a broad and long-term strategic partnership, strive to form a battery swap ecosystem across the country, build no less than 500 battery swap stations this year, and build 10,000 battery swap stations in the long term.
Previously, CATL and Sinopec have established in-depth cooperation in the construction and operation of integrated energy stations, energy storage, energy products, new materials, and technological innovation. In the future, the two companies will give full play to their respective advantages and further expand cooperation in the field of battery swap.
At the ceremony, CAES and QIJI Energy, a subsidiary of CATL, signed the "Battery Swap Station Business Cooperation Agreement" with Sinopec Sales Co., Ltd. In the process of promoting the "10,000 Battery Swap Station Vision", the two parties will work together to build an integrated comprehensive service network of "people, vehicles, energy, and life" to provide standardized and large-scale support for the realization of my country's "dual carbon" goals.
"The trend of full electrification in the automotive industry is becoming clearer and clearer, and the market is calling for a more complete energy supply network. Through this cooperation with Sinopec, CATL hopes to make battery swapping as convenient as refueling, which is also the common mission and vision of all battery swapping companies." Yang Jun, general manager of CATL's battery swapping business, said.
In terms of battery swapping models, Cadillac Energy has cooperated with many mainstream car companies based on the Choco-Swap battery swapping solution to launch models such as Changan Oushang 520, Aion S, and FAW Hongqi EQM5;
Regarding compatible battery-swap vehicle models, CAES based on the Choco-Swap solutions has cooperated with mainstream truck manufacturers such as Sinotruk, Jiefang, Foton, and Deep Way to jointly launch more than 30 models using chassis battery swapping solutions.
