EU Approves New L-Valine Feed Additive in Regulation 2025 756 Effective Immediately
On April 22, 2025, the European Commission officially adopted Regulation (EU) 2025/756, granting market authorization for L-valine produced by Escherichia coli CGMCC 22721 as a feed additive for all animal species. This decision falls under the scope of Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003, which governs additives in animal nutrition across the EU.
Under the conditions outlined in the annex, this L-valine product is authorized within a defined category of feed additives. It signifies a major regulatory green light for biotechnology-derived amino acids aimed at improving animal nutrition and feed efficiency.
The approval represents a strategic breakthrough for producers of amino acid supplements, opening up new opportunities across the European livestock and aquaculture sectors. This move also signals the EU’s continued support for scientifically backed, performance-enhancing feed solutions that meet stringent safety and efficacy standards.
