WACKER Sales in China Hit 933 Million Euros 2025 Expansion to Fuel New Breakthroughs
WACKER Chemie AG achieved impressive results in China in 2024, posting sales of 933 million euros. With major capacity expansion projects at two production sites set to go live in 2025, the company is positioning itself to tap new business areas and offer the market even higher-quality products and services.
Over the past 30 years, WACKER has steadily deepened its innovation capabilities in China, aligning its development closely with industry needs. On March 28, 2025, during a meeting between President Xi and over 40 global business leaders, WACKER’s President and CEO Dr. Christian Hartel was invited to participate, underscoring the company’s strong ties with China’s business environment.
In 2024, WACKER’s Silicones division capitalized on megatrends like industrial upgrading and sustainability to drive solid sales growth. Specialty silicone products delivered robust performance, particularly across new energy vehicles, semiconductors, energy, and consumer goods.
Despite facing challenges from a sluggish domestic construction sector, the Polymers division found growth opportunities in select niche markets, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
Meanwhile, WACKER Biosolutions reported strong momentum in the chewing gum segment and expanded customized food applications tailored for Chinese consumers. In the biotechnology sector, WACKER is actively pursuing opportunities in China. On July 30, 2024, the company co-hosted an Innovation Biopharma Collaboration Seminar with the Shanghai Biopharmaceutical Technology Development Center. Over 80 representatives from government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and investment firms attended the event, where WACKER showcased its strengths as a leading CDMO player. The seminar concluded with resounding success.
As 2025 unfolds, WACKER is poised to accelerate its growth trajectory and seize new milestones in China’s dynamic market.
