DOMO Expands India Operations with New Line to Tap Surging EV and Electronics Demand
On May 8, DOMO Chemicals announced a significant expansion of its composite materials operations in Mumbai, solidifying its role as a key supplier of high-performance solutions in the region. The upgraded facility boosts the company’s capabilities to manufacture engineering plastics based on polyamides and other resins, locally tailored for India’s fast-growing EV and electronics industries.
As India’s industrial landscape shifts toward lightweight, heat-resistant, flame-retardant, and sustainable materials, DOMO’s increased production capacity enables quicker delivery times and stronger technical support through its local R&D team. The company aims to support clients developing automotive parts, smart devices, and electronic connectors.
Soumya Mishra, DOMO India’s Sales Director, stated that the new production line is expected to accelerate service timelines for customers across India and beyond. This expansion also supports the company’s ambition to drive innovation with sustainable material solutions.
DOMO’s latest offerings emphasize eco-efficient manufacturing, significantly reducing energy use, emissions, and waste without compromising quality. A standout example is the TECHNYL® 4EARTH® C2E 216 V30 BK, a 100% recyclable PA6 made from post-consumer fishing nets and post-industrial waste yarn. The material, developed with TATA for automotive cooling systems, recently earned a spot on the Recycled Plastics Product Award shortlist at PRS India.
Ron Bult, DOMO Asia’s Managing Director, highlighted India as one of the company’s fastest-growing markets globally, noting that this capacity expansion reinforces DOMO’s commitment to resilient supply chains, rapid innovation, and sustainability in the region.
