Kangda New Materials Plans 5.85 Billion Yuan Fundraising to Boost High-Tech Projects
On June 18, Kangda New Materials announced plans to issue shares to specific investors, including its controlling shareholder Tangshan Industrial Investment, to raise up to 5.85 billion yuan. The funds will be allocated to the Dalian Qihua New Materials 80,000-ton-per-year Electronic-Grade Epoxy Resin Expansion Project, the Northern R&D Center and Military Electronics and Composite Materials Industry Project, and for working capital supplementation.
Kangda specializes in adhesive materials, synthetic resins, electronic information materials, and electronic technologies. Adhesives remain the company's primary revenue driver, but Kangda is expanding into high-value industries. It recently acquired Dalian Qihua, a high-tech company focused on developing and producing high-quality epoxy resins, strengthening its role in the synthetic resin sector.
In the electronic information materials field, Kangda acquired Jincai Technology, adding products like ceramic green tapes, precious metal pastes, and ceramic powders to its portfolio. Similarly, in the electronic technology sector, the acquisition of Saiying Technology expanded its capabilities to include electromagnetic compatibility, power modules, capacitors, microwave components, and radar systems, forming a comprehensive industrial chain.
Kangda’s wind power blade adhesives business continues to dominate the domestic market. In 2024, its wind turbine structural adhesive sales reached 40,000 tons, while its epoxy infusion resin sales surged by over 90% year-on-year to 45,000 tons, securing a 12% market share in the top four globally. The company also achieved breakthroughs in overseas markets, with its products certified by LM Windpower, GE, and Nordex for export projects.
Looking ahead to 2025, Kangda plans to enhance its market development, product innovation, and operational efficiency, aiming for significant growth in both revenue and performance.
