Glenmark Launches Affordable OTC Eye Drop in US 50 Million Dollar Market
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has introduced an over-the-counter (OTC) eye drop solution in the U.S. for treating allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, marking a significant addition to the growing market. The product, Olopatadine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution, is bioequivalent to Pataday (Once Daily Relief) from Alcon Laboratories, a brand with an annual U.S. sales estimate of $50 million (₹425 crore).
Marc Kikuchi, President and Business Head for Glenmark’s North America operations, expressed excitement about addressing the rising demand for alternative suppliers in the category. The launch reflects Glenmark’s commitment to providing high-quality OTC solutions that meet market needs.
By offering a cost-effective alternative, Glenmark aims to capture significant market share in the U.S. conjunctivitis treatment segment, where demand for safe and effective OTC options continues to grow.
