India Launches Anti-Dumping Probe on Para-Tertiary Butyl Phenol from China and Taiwan

ECHEMI 2025-07-03

On June 26, 2025, India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into Para-Tertiary Butyl Phenol (PTBP) originating from China and Taiwan. The probe follows a request from Vinati Organics Limited, an Indian manufacturer.

The investigation covers products under Indian Customs Code 2907 1940. The dumping investigation period spans April 2024 to March 2025, while the injury investigation period includes 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and the dumping period.

Interested parties must submit relevant information to the investigating authority within 30 days of the initiation notice. Submissions should be sent via email to dd15-dgtr@gov.in, dir16-dgtr@gov.in, and adv13-dgtr@gov.in.

This investigation underscores India’s efforts to protect domestic industries from unfair trade practices and ensure a level playing field in the chemical sector.
