SML Launches 2 Breakthrough Bioproducts to Boost Indian Crop Yields Amid Climate Change
India’s SML (formerly Sulphur Mills) has officially entered the biologicals market with two innovative products—StellarOn and Rootiva—poised to transform sustainable agriculture across the country. The registration and launch of these products mark a crucial move as India’s agricultural sector faces mounting climate challenges.
StellarOn is a next-generation biostimulant developed from microalgae, designed to tackle climate stress and provide crops with balanced, highly concentrated nutrition. Its unique mechanism supplies a wide range of crops with readily available hydrolyzed proteins, promoting vigorous growth even under harsh conditions.
Partnering with global leader Novonesis, SML has also introduced the biofertilizer Rootiva, which delivers specially selected endomycorrhizal strains. These beneficial microbes colonize roots, significantly improving phosphorus and water uptake while unlocking higher yield potential across diverse growing environments.
Bimal D. Shah, SML Group’s Managing Director, emphasized that bioproducts like Rootiva are vital for meeting the evolving needs of Indian farmers—boosting productivity while supporting India’s BioB3 policy for climate-adaptive agriculture.
Chairman Deepak Shah added that SML’s research-driven expertise in soil health, plant nutrition, and crop protection, combined with Novonesis’s evolving product portfolio, ensures Indian growers now have access to cutting-edge solutions to drive both productivity and income.
