DCE Launches Over 40 Futures and Options as Benzene Contracts Debut with 4 Listings
China’s benzene market reached a new milestone on July 8, as benzene futures and options were officially launched on the Dalian Commodity Exchange. The benzene futures began trading at 9:00 am, followed by options at 9:00 pm. Four futures contracts—BZ2603, BZ2604, BZ2605, and BZ2606—made their debut on the first trading day.
With this launch, the Dalian Commodity Exchange now offers over 40 futures and options products, greatly expanding risk management tools for chemical industry participants. The introduction of benzene derivatives marks a significant step in deepening the financial infrastructure for China’s petrochemical sector, providing new opportunities for hedging and price discovery.
