ACME Solar Orders Over 3.1GWh Battery Storage in India’s Largest Deal to Power Multi-State FDRE Rollout

ECHEMI 2025-07-10

India’s ACME Solar has placed battery energy storage system (BESS) orders exceeding 3.1GWh with global suppliers Zhejiang Narada Power and Trina Storage, making it one of the world’s largest procurements in the sector. These BESS units will underpin ACME’s fast-developing flexible renewable energy (FDRE) and battery projects, which are set to be deployed across multiple Indian states within the next 12–18 months.

Deliveries will be staggered across the next 4–8 months of the fiscal year, with the company emphasizing that the purchase is within planned capex and will boost cost efficiency while maintaining technical and supplier reliability. Early procurement is expected to accelerate project execution and enable timely revenue recognition. All BESS products meet key global standards, including IEC and UL certifications.

ACME Solar continues to expand its storage portfolio, having recently secured two NHPC contracts in Andhra Pradesh: a 225MW/450MWh system at Ghani substation (₹222,000/month/MW) and a 50MW/100MWh system at Kuppam substation (₹21,000/month/MW). This strategic move firmly establishes ACME Solar at the forefront of India’s battery storage transformation.
