Wanhua Gaoxin Net Profit Surges 97 Percent in H1 2025 Launches 10 Billion Yuan PVA Resin Project
Wanhua Gaoxin reported a stellar performance in the first half of 2025, with total revenue reaching 4.061 billion yuan, up 4.9% year-on-year, while net profit attributable to shareholders soared 97.47% to 256 million yuan. Net profit after non-recurring items surged 107.35% to 244 million yuan, and operating cash flow jumped 118.87% to 208 million yuan. Basic earnings per share stood at 0.122 yuan, with a weighted average ROE of 3.01%.
The company credits its robust growth to a focus on high-value downstream PVA new materials and significant R&D investment, which has enabled breakthroughs in advanced product technology. Some high-end products have disrupted foreign monopolies, signaling Wanhua Gaoxin’s transformation from cost leadership to technology leadership. This shift has resulted in strong demand and profitability for PVA optical film and other advanced materials.
On the same day, Wanhua Gaoxin unveiled plans to invest 10 billion yuan in a new ethylene-based functional PVA resin plant at Binhai Coastal Industrial Park. The project will be constructed in two phases, with the first phase including a 200,000-ton/year functional PVA resin line and supporting facilities for 360,000 tons of vinyl acetate and 300,000 tons of methyl acetate.
To maximize project advantages and attract additional support and capital, the company will establish Jiangsu Wanhua New Materials Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of 1 billion yuan. Wanhua Gaoxin will hold an 80% stake with an 800 million yuan investment, while a local state-owned enterprise will hold the remaining 20%.
