Know everything about chemical reagents
Chemical reagents are relative standard materials for chemical research and component analysis. They are an important condition for scientific and technological progress. They are widely used in the synthesis, separation, qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances. They are the laboratory with the most variety, the most frequent consumption and purchase, and the most dangerous. The biggest substance can be said to be the eyes of chemists. Chemical reagents are inseparable in the daily work of factories, schools, hospitals and research institutes. There are many kinds of chemical reagents, and there is no uniform international regulation on the classification method.
First of all, the classification of Chemical Reagents. my country's reagent specifications are basically divided according to purity (how much impurity content). There are 7 types of high purity, spectral purity, benchmark, spectroscopic purity, superior grade purity, analytical purity, and chemical purity.
Common quality levels
Premium grade pure (GR, green label): also known as first grade or guaranteed reagent, 99.8%, this reagent has the highest purity and the lowest impurity content, suitable for important and precise analysis and scientific research, and some can be used as reference materials .
Analytical purity (AR, red label): also known as secondary reagent, with high main component content, high purity, 99.7%, very low interference impurities, slightly inferior to the excellent grade, suitable for industrial analysis and chemical experiments, using red bottle labels .
Chemically pure (CP, blue label): also known as the third-grade reagent, with high main component content and high purity, ≥99.5%, with interference impurities, suitable for chemical experiments and synthetic preparations.
Experimental pure (LR, yellow label): It is also known as the four-level reagent has high content of main components, poor purity, and no choice of impurity content. It is only suitable for general chemical experiments and synthetic preparations.
Indicators and stains (ID or SR, purple label): specific sensitivity is required.
Designated level (ZD): Chemical reagents customized for specific users in accordance with the quality control indicators required by users.
Electronically pure (MOS): suitable for the production of electronic products, with extremely low electrical impurity content.
Equivalent reagents (3N, 4N, 5N): the main component content is 99.9%, 99.99%, 99.999% or more.
In addition to the above several levels, there are currently on the market:
Reference reagent (PT: Primary Reagent): It is specially used as a reference substance and can be directly prepared for standard solution.
Spectrum pure reagent (SP: Spectrum pure): Indicates spectral purity.
But because organic matter can't be displayed on the spectrum, sometimes the main component is less than 99.9%, so you must pay attention to it when using it, especially when it is used as a reference substance, it must be calibrated. Reagents whose purity is much higher than the superior grade are called high-purity reagents (≥ 99.99%).

Biochemical Reagents (BC: Biochemical), biological reagents (BR: Biological reagent), biological stains (BS: Biological Stain) for complex titration (FCM: For Complexometry), Chromatography (FCP: For chromatography purpose), fluorescence analysis (FIA), Microbiology (FMB), Microscopy (FMP: For microscopic purpose), Synthesis (FS: For synthesis), Gas chromatography (GC: Gas chromatography), High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC: High Pressure Liquid chromatography) , Indicator (Ind: Indicator), infrared absorption (IR), liquid chromatography (LC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), organic analytical standard (OSA: Organic analytical standard) for analysis (PA: Pro analysis), for practice ( Pract: Practical use) (Pure purum), Puriss (Purissmum), Synthetic (SYN), Industrial Tech: Technical grade), Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC: Thin Layer Chromatography), Spectral Pure, Optical Pure, Violet Analysis Spectrophotometric pure (UV: Ultra violet pure)
