EU Authorises Propionic Acid and Its Salts as Feed Additives Until 2035
The European Commission has adopted Regulation (EU) 2025/2186 authorising propionic acid, sodium propionate and ammonium propionate as feed additives for all terrestrial animals. The substances are classified as technological additives within the functional group of silage additives, authorised under the framework of Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003. The authorisation is valid until 19 November 2035, and the regulation enters into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
