Huntsman’s Rotterdam Plant Hit by Unexpected Shutdown, Q4 EBITDA Takes a $10M Hit
In a surprise announcement on December 1, 2025, Huntsman Corporation revealed that its polyurethane facility in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has experienced an unplanned production halt. The disruption affects the plant’s larger of two MDI production lines, with operations expected to resume by mid-December. As a direct consequence, the company now anticipates its adjusted EBITDA for Q4 2025 will land at the lower end of its previously guided range of $25–50 million—a revision driven entirely by this incident. Without the outage, Huntsman confirms performance would have aligned with original expectations. The event underscores the fragility of global chemical supply chains and the outsized impact even short-term disruptions can have on financial outlooks.
