Dafeng Haijianuo Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has officially launched a comprehensive technical revamp and expansion project with a total investment of RMB 246 million.
The project is located within the company’s existing plant site in the Dafeng Port Petrochemical New Materials Industrial Park, with no additional land acquisition. It will be carried out in two phases: Phase I is scheduled to start construction in August 2026 and commence operations in October 2026; Phase II is planned to begin construction in January 2028 and start operations in May 2028.
The project involves a broad expansion of production lines, covering vitamins, pharmaceutical excipients, and other areas.
Vitamin series:
- Annual production capacity of 20 tons of Vitamin D3, 0.1 tons of Vitamin K1, 1 ton of Vitamin D2, and 1 ton of Vitamin K2. Among these, Vitamin K1 is a new product addition, while Vitamin D3 represents an expansion of an existing product.
Pharmaceutical excipients and active ingredients:
- Annual production of 5 tons of active folic acid, 5 tons of cholesterol (plant-derived), 0.5 tons of glycocholic acid, 5 tons of SNAC (a pharmaceutical absorption enhancer), and 300 tons of folic acid.
APIs and others:
- Annual production of 50 tons of labetalol hydrochloride (an antihypertensive API), 10 tons of lanolin alcohol, 10 tons of lanolin, 300 tons of selenium disulfide, and 1 ton of dexpanthenol. By-products include 8,000 tons of sodium acetate solution, 150 tons of structured triglycerides, 50 tons of fish oil triglycerides, and 200 tons of fish oil.
The dexpanthenol technical revamp project had already obtained its filing certificate in June 2025. The folic acid project includes an initial 10-ton phase and subsequent expansion plans.
As a subsidiary of Shanghai Chuangnuo Pharmaceutical Group, Dafeng Haijianuo is already a leading global producer of Vitamin B6 and Vitamin E, and the world’s largest producer of Vitamin H.
This major revamp and capacity expansion will further consolidate its established strengths in the vitamin sector while extending into higher-value-added directions such as pharmaceutical excipients and APIs.
The multiple product lines covered by Dafeng Haijianuo’s RMB 246 million technical revamp and expansion are all in sectors with clearly upward growth trajectories. Vitamin K1 benefits from rigid demand and resilient pricing. Vitamin-based APIs as a whole are moving from historical lows into a price recovery cycle, meaning capacity expansion locks in better margins. Newer pharmaceutical excipients such as SNAC and plant-derived cholesterol are benefiting from the ramp-up of innovative downstream drugs, with strong demand growth potential.
