Givaudan to Build New Fragrance Compounding Facility in Pedro Escobedo, Mexico
Givaudan, the world’s leading fragrance and flavor company, has announced a significant strategic investment of USD 110 million to construct a new fragrance compounding facility in Pedro Escobedo, Mexico. This expansion is part of the company’s broader 2030 strategic framework, which emphasizes long-term cross-regional growth, operational excellence, and sustainable value creation.
The planned facility supports Givaudan’s “in the region, for the region” supply chain strategy by bringing production closer to customers across Mexico and the wider Latin American market. By localizing manufacturing, the company aims to enhance flexibility, shorten delivery lead times, and reduce transportation costs and emissions, while boosting its ability to serve growing demand.
Once operational, the plant is expected to deliver annual compounding capacity in the range of 20,000 to 25,000 tonnes and is targeted to begin production in 2029 in response to rising regional demand.
According to Maurizio Volpi, President of Givaudan Fragrance & Beauty, “The Latin American market continues to demonstrate strong momentum. This new investment signals our commitment to customers throughout the region, including key markets such as Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and the Andean region. It will enable us to better meet increasing demand by providing faster, more flexible service to customers, supporting our Local & Regional growth ambitions.”
Andy Stedman, Global Head of Operations for Givaudan Fragrance & Beauty, added that the new facility’s design will combine automation, scalability, and efficiency to reinforce the company’s supply infrastructure in the Americas, optimize production processes, and reduce environmental impact.
