ECHEMI WPO and Pharmaceutical Division Showcase Dual Strengths at the 94th API China, Tackling Pharmaceutical Export Challenges with Precision
On May 13, the 94th China International Pharmaceutical API / Intermediates / Packaging / Equipment Fair, API China 2026, officially opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
Held alongside PHARMCHINA 2026 and NHNE 2026, this year’s exhibition exceeded 170,000 square meters in total scale, bringing together over 3,000 pharmaceutical and health nutrition enterprises to jointly create a “super factory” for the entire pharmaceutical industry chain.
The API exhibition zone alone covered 70,000 square meters and attracted more than 1,200 high-quality exhibitors. On the first day, the event welcomed tens of thousands of professional visitors, including numerous leading Chinese pharmaceutical industrial companies seeking sourcing and partnership opportunities.

Beyond exhibitor interactions, multiple high-level industry forums, technical seminars, and conference sessions were held simultaneously on the opening day. Topics included policy and regulatory trends, pharmaceutical R&D innovation, manufacturing process upgrades, green and intelligent production, and compliance management practices. Experts from regulatory agencies, research institutions, and leading pharmaceutical enterprises gathered to share insights and discuss key industry developments, creating a practical platform for information exchange, technical collaboration, and business cooperation.

ECHEMI’s WPO Division (platform) and Pharmaceutical Division jointly appeared at Booth 3H51 in the core exhibition area, demonstrating the group’s dual-engine strategy for supporting Chinese pharmaceutical companies in global expansion.

ECHEMI WPO Division introduced visitors and suppliers to the digital promotion services of ECHEMI.com. Covering more than 200 countries and regions, the platform connects over 130,000 global buyers with more than 20,000 verified suppliers. Through precise inquiry matching and digital marketing tools, ECHEMI helps Chinese pharmaceutical raw material suppliers efficiently connect with overseas buyers and expand into international markets.

Meanwhile, ECHEMI’s Pharmaceutical Division showcased its procurement and global distribution capabilities for pharmaceutical chemicals. The division has long specialized in featured APIs and intermediates, leveraging strong product selection expertise and market insight to help domestic manufacturers expand overseas channels while providing international buyers with reliable and mature supply solutions.

ECHEMI’s integrated model of digital promotion combined with self-operated global distribution quickly attracted market attention on the very first day of the exhibition. Overseas buyers from the Middle East and Southeast Asia directly initiated procurement inquiries through the platform at the booth, reflecting continued global demand for China’s pharmaceutical supply chain. At the same time, overseas suppliers engaged in in-depth discussions with the Pharmaceutical Division regarding sourcing cooperation for specialty APIs.
During the exhibition, ECHEMI also invited a delegation of authoritative media organizations covering key pharmaceutical trade regions across the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. These included MedEdge MEA from the UAE, BioSpectrum Asia from Singapore, as well as Ingredients South Asia, Chronicle Pharmabiz, and Chemical Weekly from India. These media outlets hold significant influence within their respective regional API and pharmaceutical sectors.

Media representatives visited multiple key exhibitor booths to conduct interviews focused on China’s API export landscape, product innovation, and global supply chain strategies. They later gathered at the ECHEMI booth for dedicated discussions with the platform team.

ECHEMI representative at the exhibition commented:“We are not simply hosting media representatives. Our goal is to proactively introduce Chinese pharmaceutical ingredient companies with genuine R&D and manufacturing capabilities to these influential regional media outlets, helping them gain global visibility.”
The presence and coverage of overseas media effectively transmitted the latest developments from API China, while also highlighting the ongoing transformation of China’s pharmaceutical manufacturing industry toward digitalization and higher production standards to global procurement markets.
In addition, ECHEMI provided exclusive booth photography and media coverage services for multiple member suppliers, becoming one of the exhibition’s standout highlights. The content team visited member booths to capture product displays, team interactions, and business negotiations, with the resulting content to be distributed across ECHEMI’s social media channels and information platforms. This multidimensional exposure helps suppliers continue attracting international buyer attention even beyond the exhibition itself.
This service represents an important component of ECHEMI’s integrated member promotion system. From precise online inquiry matching to offline exhibition coverage and overseas media exposure, ECHEMI delivers a comprehensive promotional ecosystem spanning both online and offline channels.
By combining the influence of authoritative international media with its own digital promotion resources, ECHEMI is helping more Chinese suppliers build trust, secure orders, and establish a solid foothold in global markets — making overseas expansion no longer a solitary effort.
On the very first day of the exhibition, ECHEMI successfully advanced multiple initiatives simultaneously, demonstrating its comprehensive capabilities in supporting the globalization of China’s pharmaceutical industry.
On May 14, the “2026 Overseas Pharmaceutical Market Products and Trends Seminar,” jointly organized by ECHEMI and API China, was held at 10:00 AM in Conference Room M203, with simultaneous livestreaming via WeChat Channels, inviting industry professionals worldwide to participate.
