May China Isopropanol Market Prices Fluctuate and Decline

According to the commodity market analysis system, the price of isopropyl alcohol in China fluctuated and declined in May. On May 1st, the average price of isopropyl alcohol in China was 8,716.67 CNY per ton, and on May 29th, it was 7,783.33 CNY per ton, a decrease of 10.71% compared to the beginning of the month.

In May, the isopropanol market prices in China fluctuated and fell. In the first ten days, the price of raw material acetone decreased, leading to insufficient support, and the focus of the isopropanol market shifted downward. In the middle of the month, the operating rate of isopropanol factories declined, with market prices first falling then rising, resulting in an overall increase in prices. In the last ten days, the acetone market continued to weaken, coupled with poor downstream demand, causing the overall isopropanol market to fall. As of now, most quotes for isopropanol in the Shandong region are around 7,600-7,800 CNY/ton; in the Jiangsu region, most quotes for isopropanol are around 7,700-7,900 CNY/ton.

In terms of raw material acetone, the acetone market price in China fluctuated and fell in May. The average price of acetone on May 1st was 7,737.5 CNY/ton, and the average price on May 29th was 7,112.5 CNY/ton, with a price decrease of 8.08%. Currently, the overall trading atmosphere is light, and it is expected that the acetone market will mainly stabilize in the short term.

In terms of raw material propylene, the Chinese propylene market price fluctuated and fell in May. On May 1st, the average market price was 9,494.33 CNY/ton, and on May 29th, it was 9,334.33 CNY/ton, with a price decrease of 3.79%. Currently, the trading within the propylene market is good, and it is expected that the propylene market price will operate strongly in the short term.

Currently, manufacturers have lowered their quotations, and the market trading atmosphere is average. Downstream demand is weak, with purchases mainly based on need, and transactions are cautious. It is expected that in the short term, the isopropanol market in China will operate in a weak and stable manner, with more attention paid to the trend of the raw material market.
