2. Market Analysis

Entering September, the phosphate market price has shown a weak downward trend. The prices of raw materials, such as yellow phosphorus and sulfur, have weakened, leading to insufficient cost support, and phosphate prices have followed the downward trend of raw material prices. Currently, the supply and demand in the phosphate market are stable, with steady production rates among enterprises. Downstream buyers are purchasing according to their needs, but the overall market transaction atmosphere is lackluster.

Market Trends

As of September 18, the market price for 85% thermal process phosphoric acid in China is around 7,850-9,600 CNY per ton, and the market price for 85% wet process phosphoric acid in China is around 7,900-9,400 CNY per ton.

Cost aspect

Since September, the market prices of raw materials such as phosphorus and sulfur in China have shown a weakening trend. The phosphorus market is digesting inventory, with downstream buyers pressing for lower prices, leading to a downward shift in the market's transaction focus; however, prices have recently rebounded slightly. The sulfur market has been sluggish, with poor trading sentiment, and a predominantly bearish outlook, causing prices to continue to decline.

3. Future Market Forecast

Phosphate analysts believe that the phosphate market in China has been mainly consolidating recently. The price of raw material yellow phosphorus has stopped falling and started to rise, while the sulfur market remains weak, with many in the market maintaining a wait-and-see attitude. It is expected that phosphate prices in China will consolidate in the short term.
