beef tripe brought back from Nepal was intercepted by Chengdu Customs

Chengdu people are famous for their hotpot hot belly, but have you ever seen a person with a beef belly when he comes back from abroad? On the afternoon of April 2, Customs officers at Shuangliu Airport under Chengdu Customs intercepted the unquarantined tripe of a Chinese passenger arriving in Chengdu from Kathmandu, Nepal, weighing about 23 kg. This is the first time that the beef tripe was intercepted in Shuangliu Airport port Port Travel Inspection Channel. It is known that the passenger carried his suitcase through the undeclared passage. Customs officers found a mass of unidentified objects in his suitcase through X-ray machine images, which need further open-case inspection.
"When we saw the image of the machine, we speculated that it was animal products. Unexpectedly, it was found that all the bovine tripe was full of cow's hair, densely packed with suitcases, which had not been inspected and quarantined by disinfection, and the quantity was too large. It had a bad odor and looked uncomfortable." The officer concerned talked about the details of the inspection.
As the passengers concerned can not provide relevant quarantine certificate materials, the customs currently intercepts the goods in accordance with the relevant provisions. The Chengdu Customs reminded that
Unquarantined tripe may have many pathogenic organisms, such as parasites, fungi and bacteria, which may have great risks.
According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Quarantine of Entry and Exit Animals and Plants, (raw or cooked) meat (including viscera) and its products are prohibited from carrying or mailing into the country.
