Data analysis of butadiene import and export in Korea in 2021
According to statistics, the total amount of butadiene imports to South Korea in 2021 is 337,400 tons, and the second half of the year is significantly lower than the first half. The peak of the year was January, with 53,900 tons of imports. The low was just 60, 000 tonnes in October.
In 2021, South Korea's butadiene imports mainly come from The Chinese mainland and Taiwan, as well as India, Japan and other Asian regions, accounting for about 65% of South Korea's total imports. Of these, 131,200 tons were imported from mainland China, accounting for 39% of the total. In addition, Brazil imports 63,800 tons of goods, accounting for 19% of the total imports. In the first quarter of this year, the import volume from The Netherlands was 24,600 tons, accounting for about 7%.
According to statistics, the total volume of butadiene exported by South Korea in 2021 is 124,800 tons. Contrary to the import trend, the overall export situation is improved in the second half of the year compared with the first half. The year peak in August, exports in 21,000 tons; The low value is 0 tons in April.
In 2021, South Korea's butadiene exports are relatively concentrated, mainly in Mainland China and Taiwan, the United States and Japan. Among them, 40,700 tons were exported to the United States, accounting for 33 percent of the total. The total volume of mainland China and Taiwan was 53,800 tons, accounting for about 43%. On a monthly basis, exports to the United States were concentrated in June to October, reaching 16,000 tons in August. Exports to the Chinese mainland market increased gradually from July to December, reaching 11,000 tons in December.
