Relocation and Rehabilitation of Dangerous Chemicals Manufacturing Enterprises

According to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, on April 12, 2019, the first meeting of the special working group (hereinafter referred to as the "special working group") on promoting the relocation and transformation of hazardous chemicals production enterprises in densely populated urban areas was held in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Wang Jiangping, head of the special working group, member of the Party group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and vice-minister, attended and addressed the meeting. Wang Wei, head of the office of the special working group and director of the Raw Materials Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, presided over the meeting. Over the past year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with relevant departments, have steadily promoted the implementation of various tasks, achieved preliminary results in relocation and transformation, and achieved the goal of launching in 2018.
Wang Jiangping emphasized that in 2019, we should firmly promote the relocation and transformation of hazardous chemicals production enterprises, focusing on six aspects: first, we should constantly enhance the awareness of the importance and urgency of the relocation and transformation of hazardous chemicals; second, we should strengthen overall coordination and improve work efficiency; third, we should strengthen coordination between key areas and key and difficult projects; fourth, we should increase the supply of factors, law enforcement promotion and politics. Fifth, we should strengthen the management of safety and environmental protection in the relocation and transformation work; sixth, we should actively create a good atmosphere. At the meeting, representatives of Jiangsu, Hubei, Shandong and Liaoning provinces introduced the relocation and transformation of hazardous chemicals production enterprises in 2018, the existing problems and the work plan for 2019. Representatives of member units of the special working group considered the work plan for 2019. Wang Haoshui, Party member and chief engineer of the Emergency Management Department, and Li Shousheng, President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, attended the meeting and made a speech.
