Dress and eat seafood for onions

On April 17, more than 100 onion farmers were busy transplanting onion seedlings in the onion planting base of Daba banner onion planting professional cooperative in Meilis Daur ethnic area. These robust, well-developed root systems and even-sized onion seedlings seem ready for this year's exhibition. Moreover, the experts here emphasized that the rain and snow on the 17th night of the weather forecast would not affect onion seedlings, which made everyone have a bottom in their hearts. Yan Shiwei, director of the Onion Planting Specialized Cooperative in Daba Banner, introduced that at present, the onion planting in Mei District has entered the transplanting stage in an all-round way, and the work of seedling initiation and transplanting is proceeding in an orderly manner. It is expected that the transplanting of 60,000 to 80,000 Mu seedlings this year will be completed in the near future. Moreover, this year's onion in Meiji District has a new bright spot on the basis of the past, which may help the local onion industry take off in the future. It's also interesting to note that this year they put out a test plot to not only "dress" the seeds, but also "fatten the onions with seafood". At first glance, it sounds mysterious. In fact, it is an application of innovative technology.
According to Yue Hailong, a technician of Hebei Sannong Company, a technological innovator, they used coated seeds to treat them, which had certain effects on controlling pests and diseases and resisting low temperature. At present, Sannong Company has introduced American company's direct seeding equipment, which includes rotary tiller, ridger and direct seeder. This direct seeder can complete film mulching and drip irrigation belt at one time. The organic fertilizer used can increase the soil organic matter, prevent and cure the stubble and disease, at the same time, it also adds some water-soluble fertilizer, and the water-soluble fertilizer is made of marine organisms, shrimp and crab as raw materials, that is to say, letting onions "eat" seafood can improve the quality and taste of onions. In recent years, the well-known onion growing in Mei District has been exploring ideas, studying new planting techniques and solving the bottleneck of large input and low output in onion planting. On the basis of many studies and demonstrations, Daba Banner Planting Co-operative and Hebei Sannong Company cooperated closely to fully use innovative technology in onion planting, which not only ensured that onion yield did not decline, but also saved 1 300 yuan to 1 500 yuan per mu. Although the experimental field with the latest technology is only 30 mu, now onion growers are staring at it to see the actual effect. Maybe it will open up a new field for onion planting in plum area in the future.
