As of November, South Korea's imports of pollock increased by 39% year-on-year

According to SeafoodMedia on December 12, as of November 2022, South Korea's total seafood imports were 1076966 tons, of which frozen pollock accounted for 28.31%.

 
In November, South Korea imported 19,868 tonnes of frozen pollock, down 57% from 46,643 tonnes in the same period last year, and cumulative imports in the previous 11 months increased by 39% from 219,990 tonnes in the same period last year.
 
The average import volume from 2017 to November 2022 was 23,130 tons, of which 304864 tons in 2022 was the highest value and 110768 tons in 2019 was the lowest value.
 
As of November, frozen pollock mainly came from Russia, importing 299636 tons, 5,068 tons from the United States, 93 tons from Canada, 48 tons from Japan and 19 tons from China.
 
The average import price of pollock is $1.10 per kilogram in Russia and $1.14 in Canada.
 
Frozen pollock imports in November amounted to US$26.65 million, down 38% year-on-year, and cumulative imports in the first 11 months were US$338.4 million, up 46% year-on-year.
