44 Voyages Cancelled in Four Weeks, The Multi-ship Company Announced to Jump to The Port
According to the congestion update data released by HMM from November 16, 2020 to December 16, 2021, the Danish shipping consulting company Sea-Intelligence has studied and analyzed the congestion situation related to container terminals and the congestion situation of multimodal transport related to the terminal.

The North American Terminal Congestion Index shows that congestion peaked in mid-September 2021, and then there was a short temporary improvement in early October. However, this improvement was quickly reversed, and congestion subsequently reached record sustained highs.
Although HMM data cannot fully represent all other operators in the world, as a major global operator and a member of THE alliance, Danish analysts believe that it should reflect the overall market conditions.
As far as multimodal congestion is concerned, the situation in North America continues to deteriorate, while in Europe, there are signs of a slight deterioration recently. Murphy concluded: "As we enter the peak period before the Spring Festival (in the next six weeks), this situation is likely to get worse before it improves."
44 voyages cancelled in four weeks, 75% of which are in the west of the United States
According to the latest data released by Drewry a few days ago, the three major shipping alliances in the world have successively cancelled multiple voyages in the next 4 weeks (week 51-2), of which the most cancelled voyages were THE Alliance, which cancelled 23 voyages; 2M Alliance Reached 8 voyages; the least ocean alliance canceled 2 voyages

Among the 544 scheduled voyages on major trans-Pacific, trans-Atlantic, Asia-Northern and Asia-Mediterranean routes, 44 voyages were cancelled between week 51 and the second week of next year, with a cancellation rate of 8%.
According to Drewry’s current data, during this period, 75% of the blank voyages will occur on the trans-Pacific eastbound trade route, mainly to the west coast of the United States.
Drewry said that with the increase in Omicron cases, some countries are adopting stricter quarantine restrictions on transport workers, which may increase delays and further aggravate the supply chain crisis.
As the peak season before the traditional Spring Festival is approaching, it is expected that prices may increase in January.
Frequent suspensions and port jumps have caused space and equipment to remain very tight. Major shipping companies have overbooked and have begun to restrict the acceptance of bookings, or arrange to drop containers. Due to the continuous delay and rescheduling, the reliability of the sailing schedule is very low, and the delay of sailing before the Spring Festival will seriously affect the shipping after the holiday.
2M Announces Port Hopping Plans for Routes from Asia to Northern Europe and North America
The 2M shipping alliance decided to temporarily integrate Asian-Nordic port calls in the new year. Maersk and MSC stated that starting from January, the AE1/Shogun service will no longer call the port of Felixstowe, and the AE55/Griffin ring line will no longer call Rotterdam.
Maersk said: "Due to the unusual waiting time and congestion in Northern Europe, Maersk will reduce the number of calls at ports in Northern Europe by integrating the calls at Felixstowe and Rotterdam between AE1 and AE55."
The carrier expressed belief that "this is the best solution to alleviate the overall disruption of the entire service network."

Due to the congestion problem of the east coast of the United States affecting the reliability of shipping schedules and causing delays, MSC has decided to merge its Liberty and America services in Savannah and New York from mid-January to provide better shipping schedule reliability. sex. Until further notice.

Due to congestion and shipping delays in the entire supply chain, in order to cope with the current challenging market situation, MSC will implement the following empty schedules in the first and second weeks of early 2022.

CMA CGM's SHAKA2 service cancels Yantian and Hong Kong call
CMA CGM recently issued a notice that in order to ensure service reliability during the continued congestion in Asia, the rotation of SHAKA2 services will be adjusted until further notice.
The SHAKA2 service cancels the call between Yantian and Hong Kong on the southbound line, and cancels the call between Port Louis and Hong Kong on the northbound line.
Starting from the m/v "MAERSK TAIKUNG" voyage 0SSAVW1MA, ETA Shanghai December 19, 2021.
The service will have the following rotations: Shanghai-Ningbo-Tanjong Palapas-Port Louis-Durban-Tanjong Palapas-Shanghai.
As the peak shipping season for the Spring Festival approaches, many changes have been made. Foreign trade forwarders who have shipped goods pay attention to it, communicate and follow up in time to avoid unnecessary delays.
