Price Summary of Cyclohexanone in 2021

In 2021, the overall market price of cyclohexanone showed a shock rise. There were two straight-line rallies this year, one in early February on the cost side and the other in early September on the cost and supply side. The annual average price of cyclohexanone in 2021 is 10,494 CNY/ton, up 59.07% compared to 2020. The lowest price of the year was 7,100 CNY/ton in early January, and the highest price was 13,050 CNY/ton in early October. The lowest average price in the first quarter is 8888 CNY/ton, and the average price in the second and fourth quarters is above 10000 CNY/ton.

Early March 1 - cyclohexanone market rose sharply, mainly is the Spring Festival after the commodity market continues to recover, combined with the current market in 2021, the global economic recovery and expectations of monetary easing is relatively strong, rapid rise in commodity prices, commodity markets rising channel, pure benzene prices continue to rise, cyclohexanone prices also followed up. In early March, the market price of East China cyclohexanone rose to 10,850 CNY/ton cash delivery. Later, due to the price correction of crude oil and pure benzene, as well as the bearish sentiment in the commodity market, the downstream demand tends to be cautious, the market price of cyclohexanone fell, the ex-factory price of Shandong cyclohexanone fell to 9000-9100 CNY/ton, and the market price of East China fell to 9400-9500 CNY/ton in cash.

September and early October saw the second rapid rise in the cyclohexanone market. The pure benzene market rose sharply, with sinopec's listing price rising from 7,550 CNY/ton to 8,600 CNY/ton, strongly supported by the cost. Downstream caprolactam overhaul concentrated supply is tight, chemical fiber orders demand. Coupled with the influence of "double control", part of cyclohexanone device maintenance, multi-positive interweaving, shandong cyclohexanone factory price rose to 12,700-12,800 CNY/ton, east China market price rose to 13,000-13,100 CNY/ton cash delivery.
