In 2021, The Overall Operation of The Coking Industry Will Be Stable, And The Elimination of Backward Production Capacity Will Be Promoted in An Orderly Manner
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently released the operation of the coking industry in 2021: In 2021, the coking industry will continue to deepen the supply-side structural reform, actively respond to the high price of raw materials and fuel, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, etc. The overall operation is stable, and the elimination of backward production capacity is progressing in an orderly manner. The continuous improvement of the level of green and low-carbon development has made positive contributions to the overall stability of the industrial chain and supply chain, and achieved a good start in the "14th Five-Year Plan".
1. The output of coke decreased year-on-year. In 2021, coke output will be 464 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%. Among them, the coke output of iron and steel combined coking enterprises will be 110 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, and the coke output of other coking enterprises will be 355 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.3%.
Second, the price of coke has risen sharply. In 2021, coke prices will continue to rise, driven by tight supply and demand and a sharp rise in coking coal. Among them, the price fluctuation range of >40mm coke is 2040~4400 CNY/ton, the average price is 2927 CNY/ton, up 52.3% year-on-year; the price fluctuation range of ≥25~40mm coke is 1730~4500 CNY/ton, and the average price is 2845 CNY/ton, up 55.0% year-on-year.
3. The export volume and price of coke increased. In 2021, the coke export volume will be 6.45 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 75.38%, and the cumulative average export price will be 366.7 US dollars / ton, a year-on-year increase of 65.53%; the coke import volume will be 1.33 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 55.3%, and the coke import price will be 338.0 US dollars. / ton, up 45.74% year-on-year.
