On 25 March 2022, the European Commission issued Regulation (EU) No. 2022/489 amending the approval deadlines for four active substances, including fipronilamide, with effect from the twentieth day of its publication.

According to the regulation, the approval deadline for spirotetramat has been changed to 30 April 2024, and the approval deadline for L-ascorbic acid and spinetoram has been changed to 30 June 2024.

The approval date for flubendiamide has been changed to 31 August 2024.

Flubendiamide is a new type of phthalamide insecticide that activates intracellular calcium release channels in the ichthyidine receptor, resulting in the uncontrolled release of stored calcium ions.

It is one of the few compounds currently available that acts on the Ryanodine receptor of insect cells.

It has a broad-spectrum effect against lepidopteran pests and is very suitable for the control of pests that have developed resistance to existing insecticides, as no cross-resistance has developed.

It is very effective against larvae, but has limited effectiveness against adults and no ovicidal effect. Slightly conductive through the xylem after penetration into the plant.

Resistant to rain.
