Unable to get the new crown vaccine for medical reasons What can I do to protect myself?
Currently, the number of new indigenous infections in China is still at a high level and the epidemic is still in a developing stage.
Vaccination with the new crown vaccine is the best measure to prevent serious illness and death after infection, however, there are some groups who are unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons, how can they, especially those of them who are elderly and have underlying diseases, be well protected?
Four ways to protect yourself if you can't get vaccinated.

Wang Huaqing, chief expert on immunisation planning at the Chinese CDC, said at a recent press conference on the State Council's joint prevention and control mechanism that up to now, vaccination against the new crown vaccine is the best measure to prevent serious illness and death after infection.
If you are unable to receive the vaccine due to some special circumstances, or if you are temporarily unable to receive the vaccine, how should you protect yourself? In this regard, Wang Huaqing gave four recommendations.
Wang Huaqing also reminded that to protect the elderly, people around the elderly, should do a good job of personal protection, especially at home and other people in contact with the elderly should be vaccinated, for the elderly is a kind of protection.
In addition, if abnormalities occur in the health code, it is recommended not to come into contact with the elderly, once infected, the risk of transmission to the elderly is very high.
Does the increased proportion of asymptomatic infections mean that the new coronavirus is becoming less dangerous?
With the increase in the proportion of asymptomatic infections in this round of outbreaks, many members of the public are wondering whether this means that the new coronavirus is becoming less harmful and that it is developing towards influenza.
In response, Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist at the CDC, said that with the increasing proportion of the population vaccinated against the new strain of Coronavirus, the immunity of the population to the new strain of Coronavirus is improving, and the Omicron mutant strain itself is less pathogenic than other strains, the clinical severity of the infected people has indeed decreased in terms of the number of cases per 100 people.
However, Ng stressed that the concept of asymptomatic infections is only a point-in-time concept, as an asymptomatic infected person today may become a mild or common case tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and people should be more concerned about the level of infectiousness.
In this regard, Wu Zunyou said that due to the rapid spread of the Omicron strain and the large number of people infected, the total number of deaths and the social harm and impact caused by the epidemic have not been reduced.
This also suggests that the epidemic of the Omicron strain is still serious and that the new pneumonia is not a "big flu".
