Cost and Supply-Side Positives Support Aniline’s Continued Rise
January 23rd, news:
I. Price Trends
According to the commodity market analysis system, the aniline market in China continued its upward trend this week. The price of aniline was 8,545 CNY per ton on January 19th and 8,745 CNY per ton on January 23rd, with a price increase of 2.34% during the period, which is a 3.61% decrease compared to the same period last year.
II. Analysis and Commentary
This week, the aniline market in China continued to rise. During the week, the price of raw material pure benzene was adjusted upwards multiple times, while aniline supply remained at low inventory levels. Downstream demand entered the market out of necessity, and the supply side maintained stable shipments, actively pushing up prices. By this Friday, the mainstream price of aniline in China had risen to 8,700-8,800 CNY/ton.
On the cost side: This week, the price of pure benzene has shown a relatively strong upward trend. With refinery production cuts coupled with a reduction in import volumes, the supply of pure benzene has declined, leading to an improvement in its fundamental outlook. Port inventories, which had reached a high level in the first week, have begun to decline, and downstream demand for pickup has picked up somewhat. As a result, supply and demand have shown some temporary improvement. Meanwhile, geopolitical uncertainties remain unresolved, so in the short term, market prices are expected to fluctuate within a generally strong range.
III. Future Market Outlook
The current inventory status of the aniline market in China is low, and downstream resistance to high-priced raw materials is increasing. It is expected that the aniline market will consolidate after a short-term rise. Closely monitor changes in raw materials and supply and demand.
