Fortune Chinese Network released the latest Fortune 500 ranking on July 22, 2019, in synchronization with the world. Among the 500 largest enterprises in the world, 129 are in China and 121 are in the United States. For the first time in history, the number of enterprises listed by China surpasses that of the United States. There are 25 new and re-listed companies in this year's Top 500 list, including 13 Chinese companies, accounting for more than half of the total.

The total operating income of 500 companies listed in this year is nearly 32.7 trillion US dollars, an increase of 8.9% over the same period last year; the total profit has reached a record of 2.15 trillion US dollars, an increase of 14.5% over the same period last year; the net profit margin has reached 6.6%, and the return on net assets has reached 12.1%, all surpassing the previous year. This reflects the recovery of the 500 largest companies. Wal-Mart became the world's largest company for the sixth consecutive year, Sinopec ranked second, Shell rose to third, PetroChina and the State Grid ranked fourth and fifth, and Saudi Arabia and Amy, the newly listed giant oil company, ranked sixth. Four of the top 10 Chinese companies in the profit list are still the four major banks in industrial, construction and agriculture.

In terms of ranking change, the fastest increase this year was China's Biguiyuan, which jumped 176 places. Six of the top ten fastest-rising companies are from mainland China. In addition, the overall volume of Chinese companies has increased: 77 of the companies that continue to make the list are Chinese companies ranked higher than last year. From the perspective of industry, 54 banking companies are listed, which is the largest number of listed companies. Chinese banking companies make 47.5% of the profits of all Chinese companies. In addition, all listed real estate companies are from China. There are seven Internet-related companies on the list this year, with the exception of the newly listed millet, the other six companies ranked higher than last year. They are Beijing East, Alibaba, Tencent, Amazon, Alphabet and Facebook, the parent companies of Google, from China and the United States. Millet, founded in 9 years, is the youngest company among the top 500 companies in the world in 2019. Compared with the top 500 companies in the world, the profitability index of Chinese enterprises is relatively low. The average profit of the world's top 500 companies is 4.3 billion US dollars, while the average profit of Chinese listed companies is 3.5 billion US dollars. However, it should be noted that Chinese companies have reversed the downward trend in recent years in the two indicators of return on sales and return on net assets.

According to the industry analysis of listed enterprises, the industrial structure of the United States is in the post-industrialization stage, while the industrial structure of China is still in the industrialization stage. Looking from the coal enterprises listed in China, there are 11 enterprises on the list, a net increase over the previous year, Shanxi Coking Coal Group once again entered the top 500 list. National Energy Group, Shandong Energy Group and Shaanxi Coal Group continued to rank third in the coal industry, Yanzhou Mining Group ranked fourth in the list, and ranked the fastest rising coal enterprises (up 81). Among the 11 enterprises, the ranking of National Energy Group and Jincheng Coal Group declined slightly, while the ranking of other enterprises has been improved.
