Research from UBS China shows that China has strong innovation and R&D capabilities in manufacturing industry, especially in high-end equipment manufacturing industry. China's demographic dividend will gradually be upgraded to "engineer dividend", and high-end engineering and technical personnel will become the upgrading country. Hard power and soft power are the first resources to cope with global industrial competition. The survey of chemical industry shows that the proportion of high-skilled workers in the production staff of petrochemical enterprises is 21.2%, which still lags behind the 28% mentioned in the medium-term and long-term plan for the construction of high-skilled personnel team (2010-2020). From the current supply trend of graduates from chemical industry colleges and universities, high-skilled workers have annual supply trend. Nearly 50,000 people are in short supply. Beijing University of Chemical Technology (hereinafter referred to as the school) as a university with distinctive industry characteristics, highlighting the characteristics of chemical industry, and training outstanding engineering talents with "big engineering concept" is the inevitable choice of the school. Under the background of new engineering construction, aiming at the problems existing in the training of chemical engineering talents, such as "engineering education is discrete and independent, lacking systematicness and integrity", "high production requirements of chemical enterprises, great pressure on enterprises to accept students'production practice" and "gradual disconnection between theoretical teaching and engineering practice", the school has established "establishment". Full demand, solid innovation, return to engineering and move towards high-end work ideas, firmly establish the concept of "big chemical engineering" engineering education, incorporate real engineering experience and innovation spirit into the process of engineering personnel training, integrate theoretical learning, scientific research experience and engineering practice organically, and focus on training students to solve complex engineering. Take the construction of new engineering as the starting point, construct the characteristic curriculum system of "Big Chemical Industry"

The World Economic Forum issued the report "Future Career" in 2016: Predict and rank ten key human abilities in 2020, among which solving complex problems, critical thinking and creativity rank the top three. [2] It can be seen that the new engineers in the future society are no longer facing "what to know", but "what to solve". [3] Therefore, the school firmly grasps the industrial demand, thoroughly analyses the growth law of outstanding engineering talents in "Big Chemical Industry", relying on discipline advantages and high-quality curriculum resources, constructs a spiral progressive "Big Chemical Industry" characteristic curriculum system, and strengthens students'knowledge reserve, innovation consciousness and country through "Big Engineering Concept Curriculum System". From an international perspective, through the progressive practice curriculum system, students'engineering practice ability and ability to solve complex engineering problems are strengthened, thus supporting the training of outstanding engineering talents.

Based on the integration of multi-disciplines, exploring the new engineering talents training mode of "big chemical industry"

Under the background of new disciplines, we should actively explore and practice the new training mode of high-level engineering talents, which is in line with the new era and the future, with the integration of multi-disciplines as the grasp, the guidance of professional ability as the guide. Excellent engineers and technicians are needed. [4] Since 2013, the school has launched the "Interdisciplinary Talents Training Plan". It has set up interdisciplinary classes, offered interdisciplinary seminar courses and expanded interdisciplinary research projects. Up to now, it has trained 1,285 interdisciplinary talents, published 34 Chinese and English papers with students as the main body, and won 91 prizes in national and provincial and municipal competitions. Li Zhenhua, the winner of the school principal's scholarship in 2018, was selected as the first batch of "interdisciplinary classes" in 2013. Through extensive training, he has achieved a series of internationally influential research results in the fields of "intercalated structural materials and electrochemical energy storage/conversion". He is the first/co-author in the international authoritative category of chemical materials. There were 10 papers published in the journal, with a cumulative impact factor of 105 (including 5 IF> 10.0 SCI papers, 3 IF> 8.0 papers; 3 ESI highly cited papers, with a maximum of 165 citations). Under the effect and radiation of the implementation of the "Multidisciplinary Interdisciplinary Talents Training Plan", through the integration of the school's superior resources, a platform for interdisciplinary practice - "Interdisciplinary Engineering Innovation Practice Center" is built, and the core elements of "Interdisciplinary, Innovation, Practice" and other outstanding engineering talents training are penetrated into it, covering the innovation laboratory. Six modules, i.e. Creator Space, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition Hall, Physical Production Line and Analysis and Testing Platform, support students'innovative practice, engineering training, discipline competition, entrepreneurship initiation and achievement incubation, and focus on cultivating students' interdisciplinary innovative ability, practical ability and entrepreneurial awareness. Practice has proved that interdisciplinary integration can effectively stimulate students'innovative potential and cross-border integration ability, and it is a successful teaching reform and practice in the process of training top innovative talents.

Relying on the subject background of "Big Chemical Industry" of the school, actively promote the practical experience of "Interdisciplinary Talents Training Program". With the training of elites in chemical industry as the starting point, Houdepang College of Engineers was established as a reform experimental field, breaking the barrier of specialty setting, and taking multidisciplinary cross-integration as a means.
