China's foreign investment of nearly 500 billion yuan has been curbed

According to the data released by the Ministry of Commerce on January 17, 2019, Chinese domestic investors made non-financial direct investment in 4659 overseas enterprises in 159 countries and regions worldwide, with a cumulative investment of 493.09 billion yuan, an increase of 2.7% over the same period last year.
According to the data of the Ministry of Commerce, from January to August, the turnover of foreign contracted projects was 62.149 billion yuan, an increase of 0.9% over the previous year, and the newly signed contract value was 88.275 billion yuan; 325,000 workers were sent to foreign labor cooperation, an increase of 16,000 over the same period last year, and 999,000 workers were sent abroad at the end of August, the same period as the previous year. The period increased by 0.5 million people.
Relevant heads of the Department of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce pointed out that China's foreign investment cooperation maintained steady and orderly development from January to August. The main features are as follows:
actively promotes investment cooperation among the "One Belt and One Road" countries. From January to August, 53 countries along the "One Belt and One Road" were newly invested by Chinese enterprises, totaling 8.97 billion US dollars, accounting for 12.4% of the total foreign investment in the same period. New contracts for foreign contracted projects signed by countries along the "One Belt and One Road" amounted to US$77.77 billion, accounting for 60.1% of the total during the same period, and turnover of completed projects amounted to US$49.91 billion, accounting for 54.8% of the total during the same period. The structure of foreign investment has been continuously optimized and irrational investment has been effectively curbed. From January to August, foreign investment mainly flows to leasing and business services, manufacturing, wholesale and retail industries, accounting for 30.9%, 17.8% and 10.8% respectively. Outward investment to manufacturing, wholesale and retail industries increased by 5% and 13.1% respectively. There are no new investment projects in real estate, sports and entertainment industries.
There are many large projects contracted to foreign countries, mainly in infrastructure construction, to promote local development and achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation. From January to August, 468 newly contracted projects with a total value of more than 50 million US dollars were signed, six more than the same period last year, accounting for 82.8% of the total amount of newly signed projects. Among the foreign contracted projects contracted by Chinese enterprises, the contract value of infrastructure construction projects is 110 billion US dollars, accounting for 85.1% of the total newly signed contracts. At the end of August, 813,000 jobs were created for local contractors.
The person in charge introduced that from January to August, the relevant competent authorities handled 3467 newly established and merged foreign investment enterprises, with a contractual investment of 70.6 billion US dollars. Among them, 3454 non-financial foreign investment enterprises were newly established and merged, with a contractual investment of 69.35 billion US dollars; 13 financial foreign investment enterprises were newly established and merged, with a contractual investment of 1.25 billion US dollars. Among 850 foreign investment enterprises dealing with capital increase, China's contractual investment amounted to $191.8 billion; 840 non-financial foreign investment enterprises were capital increase, and China's contractual investment amounted to $17.38 billion; 10 foreign investment enterprises dealing with capital increase and financing, with China's contractual investment amounting to $1.8 billion.
