According to data released by the Ministry of Commerce on January 17, from January to August, 4659 overseas enterprises from 159 countries and regions in the world were invested in non-financial direct investment, with a cumulative investment of 493.09 billion yuan, an increase of 2.7% over the same period of last year.

The data show that from January to August, the turnover of foreign contracted projects was 62.149 billion yuan, an increase of 0.9% compared with the same period last year, and the newly signed contract was 88.275 billion yuan. 325,000 workers were sent to foreign labor cooperation, an increase of 16,000 over the same period last year, and 999,000 workers were sent to foreign labor cooperation at the end of August. The head of the Department of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce said that China's foreign investment cooperation maintained steady and orderly development in the first eight months. Among them, from January to August, Chinese enterprises increased investment in 53 countries along the "one belt and one road", totaling 8 billion 970 million US dollars, accounting for 12.4% of the total foreign investment in the same period. The total number of new contracted projects contracted by the countries along the "one belt and one road" amount to US $77 billion 770 million, which accounts for 60.1% of the total period of the same period, and the total turnover is 49 billion 910 million US dollars, which accounts for 54.8% of the total amount of the same period. Investment cooperation among countries along the belt and road has been actively promoted. The structure of foreign investment has been continuously optimized and irrational investment has been effectively curbed. From January to August, foreign investment mainly flows to leasing and business services, manufacturing, wholesale and retail industries, accounting for 30.9%, 17.8% and 10.8% respectively. Outward investment to manufacturing, wholesale and retail industries increased by 5% and 13.1% respectively. There are no new investment projects in real estate, sports and entertainment industries.
