How Many Covid Vaccines Are Made Per Hour
How many covid vaccines are made per hour you considered producing? BioNTainer, a modular production system for mRNA vaccines developed by the German company BioNTech, was recently one of the highlights of the 6th EU-AU Summit. By establishing local production facilities in Africa, the EU hopes to alleviate public pressure on its refusal to relinquish its vaccine patents. But the response has been mixed. BioNTainer, which is not expected to go into production until 2023, is clearly "too far away to quench a thirst" and there is a huge question mark over whether it will help the AU achieve 60% of new vaccine production in Africa.
The mRNA vaccine plant, named "BioNTainer," was demonstrated for the first time in Marburg, Germany, last week. In principle, this mobile production unit can be installed anywhere in the world," said BioNTech's technical director Pötting. "Scientists study how many covid vaccines are made per hour.
According to BioNTech, the "BioNTainer" consists of twelve standard containers assembled into two building blocks. The first module contains the production of active ingredients, mRNA and the preparation and concentration of drugs. The second module is for vaccine preparation, mixing mRNA with lipid nanoparticles to form the finished vaccine. Subsequent bottling and packaging are performed by local partners. The entire vaccine plant is fully integrated in approximately 800 square meters of modules, including bioreactors, clean rooms, test instruments, ventilation systems, and everything else needed for vaccine production. All necessary processes are done in specially cooled and air-conditioned containers.
BioNTech says that a "BioNTainer" will cost less than the 150 million euros needed to build a new plant of the same size, and is expected to produce 40 to 60 million doses of mRNA vaccine per year. The modular production system will be manufactured in Marburg and then shipped by ship, truck or even air to where it is needed. Given that the supply of new crown vaccines in Africa is much lower than elsewhere, BioNTech will target African countries as its first choice and expects to be able to deliver the first production unit to Africa later this year. Thereafter it may take approximately 12 months to prepare materials, install, commission and train staff before full production can begin. Some experiments have demonstrated how many covid vaccines are made per hour.
BioNTech said that the first production facilities will be delivered to Senegal, Rwanda or South Africa in close coordination with their respective countries and the African Union, while partners in Ghana and South Africa can support production with filling and packaging capacity. BioNTech's CEO, Dr. Shaheen, said that in the future, he hopes to train local experts in order to hand over long-term production to African partners.
So, how many covid vaccines are made per hour? Only one percent of the vaccines currently used in Africa are produced in Africa. This is both unfair and unsustainable. But how much and where a mobile vaccine plant can be built in the future will still depend on financing, as well as on agreements between the EU, Germany and African countries. bioNTech is willing to cover the costs of the mobile plant itself, while African countries will need to provide personnel, land, infrastructure and vaccine filling plants. At the EU-African Union Summit in Brussels, the EU and German governments have negotiated financing with willing African countries to make them willing to provide the necessary infrastructure.
