BASF's sales in the second quarter increased by 16.3% to 23 billion euros; EBIT before special items was 2.3 billion euros, the same as the same period last year; net income was 2.1 billion euros, an increase of 26.3% year-on-year.
The significant increase in sales was mainly due to BASF's ability to significantly increase prices in almost all business areas.
BASF expects sales in the 2022 fiscal year to be between 86 billion and 89 billion euros, EBIT before special items is expected to be between 6.8 billion and 7.2 billion euros, and CO2 emissions will be reduced to 18.4 million to 19.4 million tons. between tons.
