Linde builds 'spontaneous green power' project in China
Recently, Linde announced that its rooftop photovoltaic power generation project at the production site of Qiangsheng Gas (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. has been connected to the grid. This is the first production site of Linde's packaged gas business in Greater China powered by photovoltaic power generation, marking a solid step for Linde's packaged gas business to achieve green and low-carbon goals in terms of production site operation and product supply.
According to the introduction of Linde, at present, Linde Qiangsheng uses solar energy to generate electricity on site, which can provide 90% of the peak load of green solar power for the site, realizing the "self-production and self-use" of the power required for operation and the "green" with zero carbon footprint. Power supply” to ensure the stable supply of packaged gas for local large-scale enterprise customers. The project has been implemented since the end of 2021. Despite multiple impacts such as the Spring Festival holiday and the epidemic, with the sincere collaboration of the Linde Packing Gas operation team, the Greater China energy team and the construction team, the project has continued to advance efficiently. In the near future, it has passed the acceptance and approval of relevant departments and was officially connected to the grid.
Gu Wei, vice president of Linde Greater China and head of the packaged gas business, said: "Linde has been exploring the use of clean and efficient green energy to replace the existing energy model, and seeking a sustainable development path for the company's own operations. The strong on-site photovoltaics The implementation of the project is the starting point of "greening" the production site and product supply of Linde's packaged gas business. In the future, Linde's packaged gas business will continue to promote a series of photovoltaic power generation projects and green product certification at the production site to fully realize green production. ."
In 2021, Linde proposed a new sustainable development goal, that is, compared with 2021, to achieve a 35% reduction in absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 2035, and to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Gu Wei said that in China, Linde has been committed to improving the sustainability of its own operations, reducing its carbon footprint, and increasing investment in research and development of green technologies and products to vigorously promote the sustainable development of its operations.
