Carbide industry actively eliminate backward production capacity

Polyvinyl-Chloride

Carbide production is the leader of coal head organic chemical synthesis industry, and also a major energy consumer in China. The 12th Five Year Plan for energy conservation and emission reduction issued by the State Council puts forward three major goals for the carbide industry, namely, to eliminate backward production capacity, to accelerate the use of closed calcium carbide furnace and furnace gas for comprehensive utilization, and to actively promote the development and application of new calcium carbide production technology. Recently, sun Weishan, Secretary General of China Carbide Industry Association, said in an interview that during the 12th Five Year Plan period, China will over complete the task of eliminating 3.8 million tons of backward carbide production capacity, and transform 1 / 3 of the large internal combustion furnace into closed carbide furnace, with a total capacity of 6 million tons. At the same time, a new round of major technical transformation projects in the carbide industry is in the process of being initiated.

According to sun Weishan, eliminating the backward calcium carbide furnace is the most important task of energy conservation and emission reduction in the "12th Five Year Plan" calcium carbide industry. At the beginning of 2011, the 12th Five Year Plan of China's calcium carbide industry proposed the goal of "eliminating 3.8 million tons of calcium carbide furnaces with single furnace capacity less than 12500 KVA and open calcium carbide furnaces". With the joint promotion of relevant national departments and local governments, this work is being carried out with great momentum. Through the implementation of measures such as the comprehensive verification and announcement of the list of enterprises to be eliminated, the switching off of power supply, the dismantling of equipment, the matching differential electricity price and the elimination compensation, a total of 1.38 million tons of backward carbide production capacity will be eliminated nationwide in 2011, and 1.12 million tons will be eliminated this year. It is estimated that by the end of the 12th Five Year Plan, 3.8 million tons of backward carbide production capacity can be eliminated. The reporter learned that in accelerating the use of closed type calcium carbide furnace and comprehensive utilization of furnace gas, in early 2011, after more than one year's research, the petrochemical Federation and calcium carbide industry association submitted the report on technical transformation of large-scale closed calcium carbide furnace instead of internal combustion furnace to relevant national departments.

The main component of closed furnace flue gas is carbon monoxide, accounting for about 80% of the total flue gas, which has high utilization value. With the internal combustion furnace, a large amount of air will be mixed in the furnace, and carbon monoxide will completely burn in the furnace to form a large amount of waste gas which can not be used. At the same time, the carbon dioxide content in the flue gas discharged by the internal combustion furnace is much larger than that of the closed furnace. For each ton of calcium carbide produced, about 9000 cubic meters of flue gas will be discharged, while the flue gas emission from the closed furnace produced by one ton of calcium carbide is only about 400 cubic meters. Therefore, the report on the technical transformation of large-scale closed calcium carbide furnace instead of internal combustion furnace puts forward that during the 12th Five Year Plan period, one third of the large-scale internal combustion furnace in China will be transformed into large-scale closed calcium carbide furnace in batches, with a total capacity of 6 million tons and a total investment of about 3.8 billion yuan.

"After the completion of this technological transformation project, it is expected to save 1.45 billion kilowatt hours of electricity every year, with a total energy saving of 1.2 million tons of standard coal, and the emission of carbon dioxide and dust will be greatly reduced." Sun Weishan said. Although the energy-saving and emission reduction effect of closed calcium carbide furnace is outstanding, in order to realize the recovery and utilization of furnace gas, the first step is to carry out the dust removal and purification of furnace gas, so as to meet the quality requirements of raw gas for the production of chemicals. At present, there are some problems in wet dedusting, bag dedusting and other processes adopted by calcium carbide enterprises, such as the problems of sewage discharge and secondary pollution in wet dedusting, unsafe air infiltration in bag dedusting and the need to seal with nitrogen, resulting in higher energy consumption. Recently, Tianjin carbon organic synthesis Engineering Co., Ltd. has developed a dry and wet purification technology of calcium carbide furnace gas. Without bag filter, nitrogen and precipitant, it will not cause secondary pollution. After purification, the gas dust is less than 5mg / Nm3, the coal tar is close to zero, the total content of carbon monoxide gas is unchanged, and no other gas infiltrates. The quality of furnace gas meets the requirements of raw gas for chemical production It makes a great breakthrough in the purification technology of carbide furnace gas. Over the past two years, the carbide industry has carried out technical scheme demonstration, demonstration project construction and other work on the promotion of large-scale closed calcium carbide furnace, sun Weishan told reporters. Several powerful enterprises have taken the lead in the technical transformation of large-scale closed calcium carbide furnace and comprehensive utilization of furnace gas, and achieved good energy conservation and emission reduction results. However, sun Weishan also pointed out that at present, some enterprises are facing financial difficulties in promoting large-scale closed calcium carbide furnaces. The calcium carbide association is inviting the Ministry of industry and information technology and the Ministry of finance to study relevant programs and call for the introduction of financial support policies for technological transformation.

The production technology of calcium carbide by electric furnace method has lasted for a hundred years, with high energy consumption and heavy pollution. It is urgent to develop advanced and energy-saving new technologies and processes. At present, various new energy-saving and emission reduction technologies in the calcium carbide industry are speeding up research and development and promotion. On November 15 this year, the Ministry of industry and information technology solicited opinions from the public on the implementation plan of clean production technology in calcium carbide industry. The plan plans to focus on the promotion of three independently developed clean production technologies in China, i.e. calcium carbide furnace tail gas to alcohol ether carbon product, hollow electrode and carbon dioxide recycling. By 2015, the industrial application demonstration will be completed. This is a new round of major technical transformation in the carbide industry after the elimination of open furnaces and the promotion of large-scale closed furnaces. Industry insiders said that after the promotion of these three technologies in the industry, the industry's traditional image of high energy consumption and high pollution will be completely changed. In addition, the blast furnace oxythermal production technology developed by Beijing University of chemical technology and other scientific research institutions has made progress. This process is an energy-saving and pollution-free production mode of calcium carbide and gas, which makes the energy consumption of calcium carbide production become an energy output enterprise, and the comprehensive cost of calcium carbide, gas and other products is greatly reduced.
