Recently, the data of the second market report 2 / 2019 issued by the European Coal Association showed that the coal consumption in the first half of this year in the European Union decreased significantly. In the first half of 2019, the apparent consumption of 28 EU countries was 265.3 million tons, down 10.9% from 299.7 million tons in the same period of last year. In the first half of the year, the output of lignite in the EU region was 159.2 million tons, down 11.8% year on year, the output of hard coal was 33.5 million tons, down 12.9% year on year, and the import of hard coal was 72.6 million tons, down 7.9% year on year.
