Main objectives and tasks of economic development in 2019 are well completed
On January 19, the national development and Reform Commission held a press conference to release the macroeconomic operation. Meng Wei, a spokesman for the national development and Reform Commission, said at the conference that China's economy is generally stable in the face of a complex situation in which risks and challenges at home and abroad have increased significantly. In 2019, the main objectives and tasks of economic development were well completed. The data shows that in 2019, the GDP of the whole year is 99086.5 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1%, the number of new urban jobs has exceeded 13 million for seven consecutive years, and the consumer price (CPI) has increased by 2.9%. Meng Wei said that at the same time, the supply side structural reform has been further promoted, the three major battles have made key progress, the ability of scientific and technological innovation has been further improved, the coordination of urban and rural regional development has been continuously enhanced, the efforts of reform and opening up have been strengthened, people's lives have been continuously improved, and China's economy and society have maintained a good momentum of sustainable and healthy development. In terms of the economic data in December last year, there are many positive indicators. According to the data in December last year, the current economic operation shows positive changes, with improvements in production, consumption, expectations and prices.
First, production growth picked up slightly. In December last year, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 6.9% year-on-year, 0.7 percentage points higher than that in November last year, and the service industry production index also rebounded. Second, market demand has picked up. In December last year, the total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 8% year on year, and the total import and export of goods increased by 12.7%, 10.7 percentage points higher than that in November last year. Third, the market is expected to improve. The PMI was 50.2% in December last year, keeping above the boom and bust line for two consecutive months. Fourth, the price trend is basically stable. In December last year, CPI turned from up to flat, ending the five consecutive month on month rise trend; PPI turned from down to flat, with a year-on-year decline narrowed by 0.9 percentage points, reflecting the steady and progressive economic operation. Meng Wei said that these positive changes are the result of a series of policy effects, which fully shows that China's economy has strong resilience, potential and leeway. Later, with the gradual implementation of various policies and measures, we believe that the continuation of these positive changes is conditional and fundamental.
