Uses of ZnCl2

5. It is used as a preservative in fishmeal
ZnCl2 is used as a preservative in fish meal to prevent the growth of microbes (like yeast) and pesticides. It is also used for disinfection in fish transport systems. Zinc chloride is also used to increase the shelf life of food products like butter and orange juice. Zinc chloride also helps inhibit sulfur dioxide gas from reacting with organic matter, thus inhibiting corrosion and preserving metal finishes. It is used in products like ice cream and skim milk. Zinc chloride is also used to preserve goods like cement.
6. It is used as a fertilizer
